Mental Performance

Isaac has firsthand competitive experience as an athlete. He holds a black belt in karate, a blue belt in jiu-jitsu, and has experience in soccer as a goalkeeper (like Dr. Abbott!), as well as scuba diving and skydiving. He has also published research related to fencing, allowing him to deeply understand the demands athletes face across sports and competitive levels.

Isaac holds a PhD in Sport, Health & Exercise Science with an emphasis in performance and psychophysiology. He also holds a master’s degree in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, is board-certified in biofeedback, and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. He serves as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York, is an excellent mentor, and enjoys teaching and supporting the development of students and emerging professionals.

Across his work, Isaac emphasizes mindset, routines, composure under pressure, and attentional control to help performers remain steady in demanding environments. His guiding principle is simple: Steady inside. Steady outside.
